Paintings by Janet Kyle
Your countertop can be your studio. Really. It doesn’t have to be complicated, as long as you are expressing yourself as an artist.

The Challenge was to do one oil painting each day in less than 10 minutes with a pallet knife. WHY?
Janet Kyle, a classically trained artist wanted to loosen up her detail oriented painting style to a freer style, focusing less on the detail, presenting a more impressionist view and taking a more bold approach with brilliant colors.

Results:
1. Twelve 8x10 paintings shown at an exhibit in Portland, Maine with two other artists
2. Oil painting didn’t dry in time for the exhibit
3. Artist returned to painting with acrylics, watercolor and inks
